About Scheherazade’s Mirror
Scheherazade’s Mirror is a learning space dedicated to strengthening gender equality, cultural awareness, and community-based approaches. It was created to support professionals working with individuals and communities from all backgrounds—offering practical tools grounded in real-world experience.
Our philosophy is simple:
Stories inspire. Knowledge empowers.
Scheherazade’s Mirror provides workshops, webinars, consultations, and member-only resources designed to help professionals:
Understand gender norms and inequalities across cultures
Communicate effectively and ethically with people affected by GBV
Build trust with diverse individuals and communities
Recognise and challenge harmful stereotypes
Integrate inclusive, intersectional, community-based, and trauma-informed practices into their work
The project was established by a specialist with twenty years of field experience in GBV prevention, risk mitigation and response, protection work, and cultural awareness. Scheherazade’s Mirror draws on years of collaboration with ministries, police units, social services, civil society organisations, and UN agencies—transforming lessons learned into accessible, actionable tools.
Our tagline—1001 Stories to Inspire, 1001 Tools to Empower—reflects our belief in the power of storytelling and the importance of practical, grounded guidance.
Scheherazade’s Mirror stands for safety, inclusion, empathy, and professional responsibility.
You are welcome here—whether you are a first responder, a policymaker, a frontline practitioner, an educator, or anyone committed to understanding and supporting others with dignity.
